Loan Watch: Boxing Day action

Every season a number of Arsenal players go out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience. With the 2014/15 campaign now underway, nine Gunners are currently away from the club.

Carl Jenkinson played the full 90 minutes of West Ham’s 2-0 loss at Stamford Bridge. John Terry put the hosts in front before Diego Costa added a second to maintain Chelsea’s three-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Jon Toral played the final 25 minutes of Brentford’s 4-2 defeat against Ipswich. Daryl Murphy scored an early brace and Paul Anderson added a third for the visitors before half-time. Sam Saunders pulled two back in the final 10 minutes but Tommy Smith was on hand to secure the win for Ipswich.

Benik Afobe played the full 90 minutes and claimed an assist in MK Dons’ 1-0 win at Notts County. Daniel Powell scored the game’s only goal, latching onto Afobe’s pass to keep the Dons just one point behind Bristol City at the top of League One.

Austin Lipman was an unused substitute in Boreham Wood’s 2-0 victory over Bishop’s Stortford at Meadow Park. Lee Angol struck twice after the break to maintain Boreham Wood’s three-point lead at the top of the Conference South.

Josh Vickers played the full 90 minutes of Concord Rangers' 4-1 defeat against Bromley. Joe Gardner put Concord ahead but Louis Dennis equalised before the break. Dennis then scored from the penalty spot after the break and goals from Jamie Slabber and Danny Waldren secured the victory for Bromley.
