Arsene Wenger says he's unlikely to select Laurent Koscielny for the midweek trip to Galatasaray.

The France defender sat out the 3-2 defeat at Stoke City as a precaution after playing two games in four days following an eight-week lay-off.

Arsenal have booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League and, although top spot in Group D is not beyond them, Wenger doesn't want to risk certain players.

"A few players [will not travel] because there’s not a lot at stake and we have given a lot in the last two weeks"

"A few players [will not travel] because there’s not a lot at stake and we have given a lot in the last two weeks," said Wenger. "We have to recover a little bit.

"Alexis will not travel and I don’t think I can play, for example, Koscielny. He didn’t play on Saturday and I don’t see why I should risk him for a game where’s there’s not a lot at stake.

"First place hypothetically, but there’s maybe a 10 per cent chance."
