Loan Watch: Six Gunners in action

Every season a number of Arsenal players go out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience. With the 2014/15 campaign now underway, seven Gunners are currently away from the club.

Carl Jenkinson played 90 minutes in West Ham United’s 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers. The Hammers took the lead in the fifth minute when Nedum Onuoha turned the ball into his own net. Diafra Sakho secured all three points on the hour mark.

Yeovil Town 0-2 MK Dons
Benik Afobe played the full game as MK Dons cruised to a 2-0 win at Yeovil Town. Will Grigg opened the scoring in the 69th minute and Daniel Powell doubled their lead with five minutes remaining.

Brentford 3-1 Reading
Jon Toral came on for the final six minutes of Brentford’s 3-1 win against Reading. Jota Peleteira and Alex Pritchard gave the hosts an early lead. Simon Cox did pull one back but Jonathan Douglas was on target to restore the two-goal advantage and wrap up the three points.

Wellington played the full 90 minutes of Almeria’s 2-2 draw with Elche. Victor Rodriguez scored for Elche after six minutes before Verza equalised from the penalty spot. Jonathas restored Elche’s lead but was then sent off, and Tomer Hemed levelled in the last 10 minutes.

Ryo Miyachi came on for the final 30 minutes of Twente’s 2-2 draw at AZ. Robert Muhren opened the scoring for the hosts but Kyle Ebecilio and Hakim Ziyech struck back to give Twente the lead. Twente looked set to secure three points but Muamer Tankovic scored right at the end to share the points.

Havant and Waterlooville 2-1 Boreham Wood
Austin Lipman played the final 13 minutes of Boreham Wood’s 2-1 loss at Havant and Waterlooville. Lee Angol struck early but JJ Hooper equalised within 15 minutes and Ed Harris grabbed the winner two minutes before half-time, as Havant leapfrogged Boreham Wood to the top of Conference South.
