Arsenal Ladies going back to Japan

Arsenal Ladies are excited about returning to Japan

There's now just one month to go until Arsenal Ladies take part in the International Women’s Club Championship in Japan in December 2014.

The tournament, now in its third year, will see the Gunners test themselves against some of the best club sides in the women’s game.

South American champions Sao Jose Esporte Clube, Melbourne Victory of Australia and the winners of the 2014 Asia Women’s Club Championship are to participate, along with a number of clubs from Japan’s J-league.

It will be Arsenal Ladies’ second visit to Japan in four years, following a charity tour of the country in 2011.

Arsenal Ladies general manager Clare Wheatley said: “We’re really excited to be involved in the International Women’s Club Championship for the first time.

"We travelled to Japan in 2011 and the support for women’s football was absolutely fantastic so we’re all looking forward to returning. I’m sure this trip will be another great experience for our players and manager Pedro Martinez Losa.”
