Kieran Gibbs says Danny Welbeck played like an "animal" against Galatasaray on Wednesday night.
The Arsenal striker scored his first professional hat-trick as Arsene Wenger's side swept to a 4-1 win in the Champions League, causing the visitors no end of problems with his pace, power and clever movement.
"He was an animal tonight," Gibbs told Arsenal Player. "Credit to him - he works hard, he's professional and he's a great player. He's important for us.
"I think he has a bit of everything. He's quick, he's strong, he holds up the ball and he works hard"
"I think he has a bit of everything. He's quick, he's strong, he holds up the ball and he works hard. When you work hard like that, the harder you work, the luckier you get. Credit to him - he fully deserves his hat-trick and his performance."
Welbeck has hit the ground running since his deadline-day move from Manchester United and Gibbs believes that is down to his familiarity with his new team-mates.
"He knows pretty much half the squad and he's a great guy so it's a lot easier when you're likeable like that," said the left back.
