Arsene Wenger has paid tribute to Bob Wilson after the former Arsenal goalkeeper and coach was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Wilson, a driving force behind the Willow Foundation, worked under Wenger as a goalkeeping coach before retiring at the end of the 2002/03 season.
The Frenchman hailed Wilson's achievements both on and off the pitch and backed the 72-year-old to overcome his illness.
"I'm convinced that he will come out of that very quickly"
"He's a great man, not only an Arsenal man, just a great man just through his remarkable life," Wenger told Arsenal Player.
"I know him well enough because we worked together for years and the charity he has built with his wife is absolutely amazing.
"I'm sure he will get around [his illness] and on top of that. He's told me and he's determined. I'm convinced that he will come out of that very quickly. I wish him well of course."
