‘We want to do well for the manager’

Aaron Ramsey says Arsenal must quickly get back to winning ways and repay Arsene Wenger’s belief in his players.

Two early goals helped propel Bayern Munich to a 3-1 victory at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night as Wenger’s men were beaten at home for the second time in three days.

"He’s put all is faith into us and we have to repay him with results"

Ramsey stresses that the tie is not over, but concedes the players must start games stronger to justify their manager’s trust.

“We want to do well as a team and do well for him,” Ramsey told Arsenal Player.

“He’s put all is faith into us and we have to repay him with results. In the last couple of games, they haven’t been [results] that this football club should have. We’ve started off sloppily in the games and ultimately we’ve paid the price for it.

“We’re very disappointed. We didn’t start off great. I thought we conceded some sloppy goals and it was always going to be difficult then because they’re a very organised team and we struggled to break them down.

“Teams have been in this position before and managed to pull it off, so hopefully we can have that sort of mentality. We need a bit of luck but it’s been done before.”
