The memory of the moment he decided to become a coach is crystal clear for Mikel Arteta.
"I started thinking about it when I was 27 years old," he told Arsenal Player.
"I got injured on the ACL of my knee and I had a lot of time to rest, rehabilitation time, and I started to study the game more, to contact coaches, to get ideas and to seriously consider if it could be a future possibility.
"As a result I began to prepare, and in the last years of my career I realised that I felt more what I saw from the outside than when I played on the field."
