Vivianne Miedema has won our Emirates Goal of the Month award for May.
The striker’s farewell goal against Brighton & Hove Albion topped the poll, amassing a whopping 74% of the vote, pushing Takehiro Tomiyasu and Declan Rice into second and third respectively.
Viv’s magical moment came when Leah Williamson played a ball into Beth Mead, who produced a pin-point pass into the feet of the Dutch striker.
She showed ice-cool composure to slip the ball into the bottom corner, and send the Meadow Park crowd wild as she notched her 124th and final goal for the club.
It is the second time Viv has won our Goal of the Month competition this season, thanks to her stunning strike against Liverpool in January that marked the compilation of her comeback from injury, and also claimed the WSL Goal of the Month award.
