Katie McCabe is in no doubt: this is going to be a big season for The Arsenal.
The Republic of Ireland international was at her electric best in Sunday's win over Chelsea, opening the scoring and leading by example in a more advanced role.
And speaking after the game, she was quick to predict 'big things coming' to our talented group of players.
Here's every word from her interview with Arsenal Media:
on the perfect way to start pre-season...
Yeah, absolutely. It was a terrific result. It's pre-season but of course it's always nice to get a win, especially on a stage like the Emirates. It's been good, we were pressing well and now I'm looking forward to the start of the season.
on Jonas being remote...
He was giving us his team talk via Zoom, so that's a first but it's COVID times so what's new? He's been great and the staff have been really supportive in making things as easy as possible for us players. He's in with us next week and we'll be raring to go.
on the young girls...
The girls have been great. A lot of our first-team players are away in Japan, and the academy players have stepped up and been brilliant. They've been great in training as well, and you can see the quality they have with the finish at the end of the game. It's a really exciting future ahead for The Arsenal.
on big games coming up...
There's a lot of players away at the moment but we'll be getting a chunk of those home. Our Aussie girls will be staying out there to fight for a medal a bit longer, but it will be great to get the majority team back together again. We're focused on that Champions League game now in a few weeks, so we need to prepare the best we can for that.
on ambitions for this year...
Last year we didn't compete for any trophies. We secured the Champions League but a club like Arsenal needs to be up for trophies, so we're progressing to do that this year. You can see the quality we've got in as well, so we mean business this season and we want to start that with the pre-season games moving into the season. There's big things coming to this team.
