Lucas Torreira made his debut for Atletico Madrid on Saturday. Our on-loan Uruguay midfielder played the full game as his new side ran out 2-0 winners against Celta Vigo in La Liga.

Goals from Luis Suarez and Yannick Carrasco settled the match and leaves the Spanish giants eighth in the table after four games.

There was another debut for one of our loan stars this weekend as Dejan Iliev kept a clean sheet for Shrewsbury Town against AFC Wimbledon.

Iliev, who was making his first appearance in senior English football, helped The Shrews to a 1-0 win on the road in League One after a 90th-minute strike from Leon Clarke separated the sides late on.

Elsewhere, Jordi Osei-Tutu was forced off with an injury as Cardiff beat Preston 1-0 at Deepdale.

Our 22-year-old right-back played well in the match, most notably setting up Kieffer Moore for a great chance just after the half-hour mark.

Osei-Tutu's day was to end badly though, when he picked up a late knock and had to be replaced by Sol Bamba with 13 minutes remaining.

Ben Sheaf played the full game as Coventry lost 2-0 against Brentford in the Championship. The Bees' summer signing Ivan Toney struck twice in nine second-half minutes to seal the points.

The result leaves Coventry 19th in the table after picking up just one win from five games this season.

Joseph Olowu played the full match and picked up a booking as Cork City drew 0-0 with Waterford at home. The result leaves Cork rooted to the bottom of the Irish Premier Division.

Trae Coyle came off the bench as Gillingham lost 2-0 against MK Dons on Saturday. Our 19-year-old midfielder replaced Dominic Samuel with 23 minutes to play at Stadium MK.

It was defeat for Matt Smith too as his Swindon side lost 2-0 against Sunderland at home. Goals from Charlie Wyke and Chris Maguire earned the visitors all three points before Smith was replaced after 81 minutes.

Daniel Ballard was an unused substitute as Blackpool drew 1-1 away at Crewe.
