Loan watch: Tavares and Balogun score again

Nuno Tavares celebrates scoring for Marseille

Nuno Tavares was back on the scoresheet for Marseille this week as he bagged his second goal in as many games for his new side.

Our 22-year-old defender has hit the ground running in Ligue 1 this season and helped his side to a deserved 1-1 draw against Stade Brestois on Sunday. The win leaves Marseille second in the table, two points behind PSG.

Folarin Balogun also went back-to-back this week, converting from the spot to score his second goal for Reims as they fell to a 4-2 defeat against Clermont at home.

Pablo Mari went straight into the starting XI for AC Monza as he made his debut for his new side this weekend. Our centre-back played the full match, falling to a 2-1 defeat against Torino at home as Serie A kicked off their season.

Elsewhere, Charlie Patino played 12 minutes for Blackpool on Saturday as they lost 1-0 at home to Swansea. Patino replaced Sonny Carey in the closing stages but couldn't help the Seasiders convert a late equaliser.

Auston Trusty played the full match as Birmingham City lost 1-0 to Cardiff City on Saturday. Despite that defeat, our 24-year-old defender has become somewhat of a fan favourite in the West Midlands after making an impressive start to life under John Eustace this season.

However, Harry Clarke missed Stoke City's game against Huddersfield Town with a shin injury, which manager Michael O'Neill believes will keep him out for a few weeks.

In League One, Tyreece John-Jules played 20 minutes for Ipswich Town on Sunday as The Blues beat MK Dons 3-0 at Portman Road. Our young forward replaced Marcus Harness after 70 minutes but couldn't get himself on the scoresheet.

Mazeed Ogungbo played the full 90 minutes on Saturday and kept another clean sheet for Crawley Town as they drew 0-0 with Harrogate Town in League Two. Ogungbo has played a variety of different positions since joining The Reds and is clearly enjoying life under our former U23s boss Kevin Betsy.

Elsewhere in the division, Arthur Okonkwo played the full game for Crewe Alexandra as they lost 3-0 to Salford at home on Saturday. Our 20-year-old keeper has started every game for his new side this season, picking up two wins and two defeats from four games.

Up in Scotland, Ryan Alebiosu played the full match as Kilmarnock lost 5-0 to Celtic at Rugby Park on Sunday. The result leaves Killie 11th in the table after three games.

And finally, Ovie Ejeheri played 29 minutes for Chelmsford City on Saturday as they faced Chippenham Town at Hardenhuish Park. The match was abandoned before the half-hour mark after Chippenham's Pablo Martinez collapsed in the centre circle. The club have since confirmed he is in a stable, "not life-threatening" condition.
