An update on ticketing for home fans ahead of our Europa League group game against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Following fan disorder at the Europa League group stage match between Vitoria and Frankfurt, UEFA have taken the decision to ban Eintracht Frankfurt from selling tickets to its away supporters for their next two UEFA competition matches.
This is in accordance with Article 26 (3) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, which includes our home match with Frankfurt on Thursday, November 28 (kick-off: 8pm).
After discussions with the police and local authorities, we are required to place restrictions on ticket sales for the match with Frankfurt at Emirates Stadium. This decision is based on safety considerations and follows the difficulties experienced when we played Cologne in September 2017.
We have been advised by Frankfurt and local German authorities that a significant number of Frankfurt fans could be travelling to London for the match without tickets.
As a result of this anticipated demand from Frankfurt supporters and in order to minimise visiting fans entering home sections of the stadium, we have been forced to limit how we sell tickets to our supporters for the match.
Consequently, there will be no sales to our red members for this fixture and no tickets put on general sale.
Any Frankfurt supporters in possession of a home ticket will be refused entry and any who do manage to gain entry will face ejection from the stadium.
Due to the nature of this game it is especially important our fans do not allow their tickets to end up in the hands of away fans. The club will take the appropriate action against any member found passing, selling or offering their ticket/s for sale, which will lead to a cancellation of their membership resulting in a ban.
We're disappointed to be taking these steps but it's necessary in these unusual circumstances. We do not want a repeat of the situation when we played Cologne.
The safety of our supporters is our paramount concern and we will do everything we can to ensure this.
