Arsenal Ladies didn’t start the game very well.
Liverpool got right behind the ball and made it very hard for Arsenal to break them down.
A Poor 1st half performance by Arsenal and a very good performance by the Liverpool goalkeeper kept the score level 0-0 at half time.
Came out in the second-half with a bit more grit and determination and scored our first goal of the game when Kelly Smith drove in from the right hand side and had a shot just inside the box into the corner where the keeper had no chance.
Arsenal sub Rachel Yankey came on in the 65th minute and looked very lively and she was rewarded a goal after a fierce strike from outside the box bounced just in front of the keeper and into the bottom corner of the net.
Arsenal created many more chances after this but the Liverpool keeper kept the score to a minimum.
