Interview

Kuhl: "This club is like a sisterhood"

Kathrine Kuhl is officially a Gunner after joining us from Danish side, FC Nordsjælland in the January transfer window.

Still only 19, the Danish midfielder has been starring in the Elitedivisionen for a few seasons as one of Europe's brightest young talents and she can't wait to get started in the Women's Super League.

"I was ready for a new and bigger challenge," Kathrine said in her first interview to Arsenal.com "Making the step to the English league is a dream come true for me and when Arsenal were interested, it was such a great opportunity."

"There are so many great things around the club and all the fans and the community - it's like a sisterhood. I'm looking forward to being a part of that!"

When it comes to the future, Kathrine is staying grounded by tuning out any big expectations there may be on her.

"I try to focus on the game and every training every week to get better. I'm really focusing on my development and I'm still quite young so I have a lot to work on, which I'm doing every week. I hope that I can continue that work at Arsenal."

Less than a year ago, when Kathrine was interviewed about her future goals, she replied, "to play abroad, to play for a big European club. That's a big goal of mine." Today, as she put pen to paper on her Arsenal contract, it felt like the beginning of a wish fulfilled.

"It feels like another dream come true. And when the dream does come true, I set new goals for myself. I can't wait to see what the future brings me. I'm really looking forward to it.
