Joe Montemurro is expecting yet another world-class season from Kim Little.
Our manager previously signed the Scotland captain on loan for Melbourne City during the 2015/16 season - and says we are lucky to have someone of her talent and professionalism at the club.
“Kim is a world-class player and she’s one of the best players in the world, it’s as simple as that,” Montemurro told Arsenal.com.
“She can influence a game either way, whether it’s just keeping her shape and not being involved on the ball, or actually being on the ball.
“We’re blessed to have her at Arsenal, and we’re blessed to have her as our captain and as our leader. I couldn’t think of a better individual to work with and to influence the group and influence the younger players.”
Another player who should kick on this season is Katie McCabe, who has scored back-to-back braces for club and country in her first two outings of the season.
“Katie’s a talented player. I liked her even before I came to Arsenal,” Montemurro said.
“She’s done a pre-season from day one right the whole way through, and I think that’s really helped her, whereas before I don’t think she done the full programme or the full process. She’s either been out on loan or missed bits of pre-season and so on, but now she’s reaping the rewards.
“Her attitude is amazing and she’s doing a lot of work off the park to make sure that her lifestyle and her approach to training is 100% and the most important thing is that she’s happy and enjoying her football. She’s a really talented player.”
