Thomas Partey in training with Ghana

Thomas Partey played 90 minutes of a thrilling encounter for Ghana, who beat Central African Republic 4-3 in the World Cup qualifiers on Monday.

Jordan Ayew and Louis Mafouta scored hat-tricks for Ghana and Central African Republic respectively, Abdul Fatawu getting the other goal of the game for the home side, which was assisted by Partey on the edge of the 18-yard box.

Ghana are top of Group I with nine points from four games.

It was Thomas’ 46th appearance for the national team.

Elsewhere, Jakub Kiwior played 90 minutes of Poland’s 2-1 friendly win at home to Turkey on Monday.

Karol Świderski opened the scoring for Poland in the 12th minute but Baris Alper Yilmaz looked to have earned a draw with his 77th minute equaliser. However, Nicola Zalewski snatched a 90th minute winner for Poland.

Their UEFA Euro 2024 tournament begins against Netherlands at 2pm BST on Sunday, June 16, before matches with Austria and France in the group stage.

It was Jakub’s 23rd appearance for the national team.
