Pre-Match Report

Huddersfield Town v Arsenal: The Brief

The last time we visited Huddersfield Town, back in May 2018, we bid farewell to Arsene Wenger on an emotional day at the St John's Stadium that no one associated with the club will ever forget.

This time around will be a very different experience as we travel north with nothing else dominating our minds other than collecting a much-needed three points on the road.

We will be heavy favourites against a Terriers side that has lost its last six home Premier League matches, and has only scored five league goals at the St John's Stadium this term.

Unai Emery acknowledges that his side must improve their performances away from Emirates Stadium, having not picked up a Premier League win on the road since beating Bournemouth on November 25. We won't have much better chance than this Saturday, although our head coach acknowledges that playing a side fighting for survival can bring its own challenges.

"These matches are difficult and they are playing for the possibility to continue in the Premier League," he said. "Their last results have not been good but with their new coach, I am sure that they are going to play with a big ambition and a big performance on Saturday. I think they have good players with a good organisation. They push a lot and I know it will be difficult."

Read on for our comprehensive match preview, including Unai Emery's thoughts on the game, the latest team news, stats, and analysis of the opposition.
