We delivered over the weekend. Was it pretty? Nope. Was it nerve racking? Yep. Was it Arsenal? YES! It had elements of what we are, elements of what we could be and elements that continue to puzzle us all. Seriously, the team does bounce around the sea like the cargo ship in "Life of Pi". It looks as if it's stable, but all of sudden it breaks down and concedes, sinks when it shouldn't.
Bottom-line, it's frustrating to watch us, but all that is important is that we delivered what was asked of us. Full points is what was asked and full points is what we got. It gives us a bit of ammunition going into the NLD. I don't think many words are required to talk about how important it is to the season or to the supporters. See my previous NLD post this season for what it is in my mind.
Massive is an understatement. That's all I will say.
So, it's a long week until we get the game. The one thing I do wish is that we don't deliver like the cargo ship in "Life of Pi". I hope we're like Pi. Someone who survived a tragic beginning with some heavy losses. dealt with what was put in front of him and made something out of the situation and all of its obstacles. A success -- to a degree.
That's what I want. Hope for. Enjoy the week.
Thanks for reading and thanks for listening. This week on the Arsenal America Podcast we welcome James Olley of the Evening Standard, the man from EastLower and 7amKickoff. Look for it on Wednesday afternoon Los Angeles time.
