Emery on our full-backs, and Leno or Cech

It’s a huge game against Liverpool on Saturday, so how is Unai Emery assessing the readiness of his players for the match?

Our head coach discussed our options at full-back for the game, and whether he will go for Bernd Leno or Petr Cech in goal for the match.

This is what he told the media:

on our full-back issues and if they worry him...

We are playing a lot of matches: Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday. We need every player and injuries are normal in a season. Today, we are going to do the last training with the players. There are doubts but we are going to wait to see if we can use one or another player in the full-back positions. But if they cannot play we are going to play another player. We will play 11 against 11. I think now we have a good spirit and excited players for tomorrow. For me, the players are okay and we are going to play tomorrow.

on Cech or Leno...

I am very happy with both and my decision is clear and easy. If I choose one, it's perfect, but if I choose the other, it's also perfect.

on whether this is Emery's Arsenal or still what he inherited from Arsene Wenger...

I don’t know, but for me it's very important that every day we continue improving things. But the most important thing, before I came here, this team, this club and these players had a lot of positive things and I want to share with him this capacity and this work in the past year. And then, give them my personal style and ideals also. But earning and doing things together with the past and in the present. Then, we want to write a new future here, to create a new future. But we are at the beginning but we need a lot of time more in the present and in the future but we think of each match. Tomorrow we have a chance to improve more things and to show every supporter our mentality, our ideas and our performance against a very big team. But thinking that we are in one process and this process is in our way because we can and we want to write a new history here. I want to do a big history.
