David Raya wins Premier League Golden Glove

David Raya - winner of the 2023/24 Golden Glove

After keeping a clean sheet in our 3-0 win against Bournemouth, David Raya is the outright winner of the 2023/24 Premier League’s Golden Glove.

Our shot-stopper has now registered 15 clean sheets in 30 league matches this season following his move from Brentford in August, meaning he has clinched the silverware with two games left to add to his total.

His nearest rival for the prize was Jordan Pickford who has kept 12 shutouts for Everton this term, but as the Toffees only have two matches remaining the England keeper cannot catch David in the rankings.

10 of David’s clean sheets have come in 15 matches since the turn of the year, helping to maintain our Premier League title push.

The achievement is made all the more special given he missed the first four matches of the campaign after swapping the Bees for us, and kept the first of his blanks debuting against Everton in September. He also missed both matches against Brentford as he was ineligible to play against his former club.

It is the third time a Gunners keeper has won the accolade, which was introduced in 2004/05. Wojciech Szczesny’s 16 clean sheets in 2013/14 saw him tie with Chelsea’s Petr Cech, while following his move to north London Cech was the winner two seasons later when he also recorded 16.
