Daniel Ballard has joined Millwall on loan for the 2021/22 season.
The 21-year-old defender will continue his development with Millwall next season following his hugely successful loan spell with Blackpool last season. Ballard was a key member of Blackpool’s side which won promotion into the Championship via the Play Offs, making 38 appearances during the campaign.
Ballard is a product of our Hale End academy and has been at the club since he was eight years old, progressing to a scholar in July 2016, which was followed with his first professional contract in June 2018. His positive development was rewarded with signing a new contract in May 2019.
As a second year scholar, Dan captained our under-18s to the final of the FA Youth Cup in 2017/18 and has also been a regular in our Premier League 2 sides during his time with us. In September 2020, the central defender became a full Northern Ireland international, making his senior debut against Romania. Since then, Dan has made five full appearances for his country.
We wish Dan all the best for his time with Millwall. We wish him success and we look forward to seeing his continued development next season.
The loan deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
