Dan Ballard joins Blackpool on loan

Ballard

Dan Ballard has joined League One side Blackpool on loan until January 2021.

The 21-year-old defender is a product of our Hale End academy and has been at the club since he was eight years old, progressing to a scholar in July 2016, which was followed with his first professional contract in June 2018. His positive development was rewarded with signing a new contract with us in May 2019.

Dan has represented Northern Ireland at youth level and recently made his senior international debut for his country in September, playing in both Nations League matches against Romania and Norway. He has also been called up for the forthcoming matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina, Austria and Norway.

As a second year scholar, Dan captained our under-18s to the final of the FA Youth Cup and has also been a regular in our Premier League 2 sides. He was previously on loan with Swindon Town at the start of last season, but the spell was cut short in August due to injury. Since then, Dan has recovered well and recently impressed in our pre-season friendly victory over MK Dons in August.

We wish Dan the best of luck for his time with Blackpool and we look forward to seeing his continued development.

The loan deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
