Cover-More Coaching Clinic

In January 2020 Arsenal’s Official Travel Insurance Partner Cover-More teamed up with Arsenal Football Development to deliver a bespoke coaching clinic in partnership with Little Foxes FC (who are also sponsored by Cover-More).

The two-day clinic was hosted at Holland Park School in London and saw Arsenal Football Development deliver practical sessions to over 100 boys and girls from the Little Foxes u9, u11 and u13 teams. The focus was to improve the basic skillset and technical ability of participants through a range of drills which were carefully designed in collaboration with the Little Foxes coaching team. This approach ensured the young footballers enjoyed the perfect balance of continuity whilst being gently introduced to the Arsenal coaching philosophy. Little Foxes coaches were also afforded the opportunity to shadow Arsenal coaches throughout the clinic and lead on certain exercises. Delivering the session in this way ensured the development of players and coaches alike which had an important legacy element for the club.

Cover-More decided to use their access to Arsenal coaches in this way to support their pre-existing CSR strategy. The business has an ongoing commitment to grassroots football in London and saw the clinics as an opportunity to use the world’s game as a vehicle to drive change and instil important values amongst participants.

The programme was deemed such a success that planning has already commenced on two further clinics in 2020. These will incorporate a ‘Coach the Coaches’ element whereby Little Foxes coaches will undertake theoretical and practical lessons before delivering sessions under the tutorage of Arsenal Football Development coaches.
