Club supports Rainbow Laces campaign

We’ll be supporting Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign during our Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday, December 5 and our Women's Super League fixture against Reading on Sunday, December 8.

Whether playing or spectating, Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign aims to empower LGBT people in sport and celebrate diversity.

Support for the campaign will be clear across both fixtures with rainbow laces, pitch flags, ball plinths and handshake boards present. Our matchday programme for the Brighton fixture will also take on a rainbow theme.

In addition to the matchday activity, a limited number of ‘PRIDE 19’ rainbow printed shirts will be available in The Armoury Store and Gay Gooners will take on their West Ham United counterparts, Pride Of Irons, in a friendly fixture around London Stadium on Friday.

Established in 2013, Gay Gooners are the first and largest LGBTQ fan group for a major football club in England, with a global membership approaching 1,000 people. The group’s banner is proudly displayed inside Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal in the Community have also delivered a two-hour Stonewall education session to our BTEC and Gap Year students to promote ways in which young people can challenge prejudice and abuse in their roles as coaches in our local community and schools.

At Arsenal we are proud of the diversity within our team and amongst our supporters. Through our Arsenal For Everyone campaign we want to ensure that everyone associated with the club feels an equal sense of belonging.
