Beth Mead on bagging a brace against Bristol

Beth Mead scored twice on Sunday evening as we cruised to a 5-0 win over Bristol City in the Barclays Women's Super League.

Here's everything our winger had to say after the final whistle:

on the win...

Yeah, it was a nice game to be part of. I think we played some good football and it was a convincing win. I think against these types of teams this season we struggled a little bit and we showed our quality on and off the ball today.

on scoring twice...

I think it's been a little while since I've scored so it was nice to be on the scoresheet and to get a few goals. We’re a team that likes to score goals so it was nice to get a convincing win with five goals in the bag.

on scoring from central positions...

I've had a lot of experience as number nine over the years. I started my career there and I like to come inside quite a lot. Those spaces opened up for me today, so I guess my number nine experience came in handy!

on reflecting on her recovery from injury...

I think so far, so good. It's so hard to come back from such a long injury. You've seen a lot of the girls, Laura’s been wanting to come back from injury and we're never gonna come back perfect. We’re nine, ten months out of the game, so we're not gonna come back the way that we were. But I feel like I'm building well, considering and I'm happy with what I'm doing on the pitch at the moment.

on heading back to the Emirates this weekend to face Leicester...

We started not great against Leicester in the first game that we played against them this season. I think we've got to start on the ground running. We've got the fans coming to the Emirates and they're always great, so we've got to put on a good performance for them.
