It was another hugely frustrating evening in the Premier League on Saturday, but Mikel Arteta says we have got no time to dwell on the defeat as the big games keep coming over the festive period.
It’s holders Manchester City up next in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday at the Emirates, and the manager underlined the importance of taking responsibility for our performances ahead of that game.
“We cannot feel sorry for ourselves,” Arteta told Arsenal.com. “We are losing football matches because of us, nothing to do with the opponent.
“Against Burnley we lost the game without conceding any shots on target, believe it or not, and today again you can see how the team tried and how they tried to play with our limitations, but they always try and fight, and I cannot fault that at all from the players.”
