Mikel Arteta will be without Gabriel Martinelli for Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven.
Martinelli was forced off the pitch in our 1-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday in the 24th minute.
“He felt something in his hamstring and we need to do some further tests to assess if there is any big damage or not,” Mikel explained, “but he will be out for tomorrow’s game, that’s for sure.”
Mohamed Elneny, who is the only player in the squad remaining from our previous Champions League campaign in 2016/17, is continuing his road to recovery, after he was injured back in January.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the boss said: “He’s still young though! He’s in a good place, obviously it’s been a while and it’s been a very significant injury, but I think he's in the latter stages of that rehab process.
“He’s been training for almost two weeks with the team and he is in a good place. It’s always great to have him around.”
