Arteta – 'It’s a joy to play here'

Our win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday was our biggest of the campaign to date, and was also the 300th we’ve recorded at Emirates Stadium.

We moved to our current home from Highbury in 2006, and the game against Forest was 449th game in all competitions. We have now racked up 300 wins, to go with 84 draws and 65 defeats.

After the game Mikel Arteta discussed the win, and spoke about the joy the players have playing at home, where we have won eight out of eight this season.

Here’s what he said to Arsenal Media after the game…

On it being the perfect response to Thursday…

Great, really determined, really aggressive, really going for it with no hesitations this is what we wanted, we talked about it. We can have a result after the run that we were in, now it is about how we respond, we did it from the beginning in a really convincing way.

On a special day for Reiss Nelson…

You can sense how happy everybody was for him, players, the staff. he is a great kid, he’s really fighting and trying to get his place back. His journey has put him in the right place right now to try to fulfil his potential, and today he’s made a huge step on that.

On how he’s matured…

A lot, not only that but with a lot of things that have happened in his life and the way he has responded to that, he’s focused now is football, he wants to be at the club and compete with the top players we have here, and he’s done it today and he helped the team to win the game.

On Saka’s injury…

He was limping, he was uncomfortable, he had a really bad kick obviously, you all saw that he couldn't carry on, so let’s wait what the news is

On enjoying the second half…

It was time for the players to enjoy that moment, they earned it, we had so many games, a lot of emotions, that they’ve been through and as well to give some opportunities to some players and like Cedric, he hasn’t played a lot of minutes as well and he’s every day conducting the right way, it was great to see some players having minutes.

On 300 wins at the Emirates…

It was great honestly, thank you so much for all the supporters coming back it made the game much simpler, much easier, the boys were just talking about it, it’s just a joy to come here and play in front of them. It really is special.
