Arteta confirms Timber will feature for our U21s

Timber return

Mikel Arteta confirmed that Jurrien Timber will play for our under-21s as he continues his road to recovery.

The young Gunners are travelling to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers in Premier League 2 Division One on Monday night.

Jurrien has been unavailable since August when he suffered an ACL injury.

“He’s going to play a game with the under-21s and after that we will see better where he is, how he felt,” Mikel said in his pre-match press conference on Friday. “He looks really good in training but it’s that last step now. We need to have the certainty that he’s ready to go.

“He can play in both positions right and left full-back in relation to the game and the players we have available.”

Asked for the latest team news regarding the rest of the team ahead of Saturday’s trip to Molineux Stadium for our Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Mikel simply added: “The rest are all good.”
