Arsenal in the Community

Arsenal win Lord Mayor's Dragon Award

Our Arsenal in the Community programme has been rewarded for its outstanding work across North London with one of the Uk’s oldest and most distinguished awards.

Run by the City of London Corporation, the annual award recognises business which go above and beyond their normal work to address social issues in their communities.

Since 1985, 1,000 young people have progressed through our trainee programme that has led to 133 people receiving paid employment. We directly employed a further 32 people, who have since delivered 400 hours of programmes each week and during the 2015/16 season, we worked with over 23,000 youngsters in various community based projects. On top of this, out Community Hub welcomes 1,500 people through its doors every week, providing both football, social and educational facilities.

“I applaud all the valuable and innovative work Arsenal is doing,” said Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley, Lord Mayor of the City of London, “which is truly making a difference to our communities, as well as benefitting those employees involved.”
