Our match against Aston Villa will take place on Remembrance Sunday this year, as we mark 75 years since the end of the Second World War.

We are proud to once again be supporting The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and will honour the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces who came together to defend our way of life then, but also those who continue to do so today.

In a show of support, our players will once again wear special-edition shirts embroidered with a poppy for the match against Aston Villa, as they did against Manchester United last weekend. After the match, these will be made available to purchase in an auction, with all proceeds going to the Legion.

The Premier League’s Poppy Appeal support has seen more than £2.3million raised for the Legion since the partnership began in 2012.

Due to current restrictions, a recording of the Last Post will be played via the screens inside Emirates Stadium ahead of a moment’s silence before kick-off against Aston Villa. The soldiers associated to both Arsenal and Aston Villa that fell during the war will also be remembered in our matchday programme.

The Legion’s work is more vital than ever this year as the charity supports communities through additional hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic, from those struggling with social isolation, financial difficulties and unemployment, to others who have lost loved ones or are facing the threat of homelessness.
