Arsenal Legends to take on Real Madrid Legends

Real Madrid v Arsenal Legends promo

Arsenal Legends will take on Real Madrid Legends on Sunday, June 3 at the Santiago Bernabeu at 6pm (UK time).

The Corazón Classic Match 2018 is hosted by the Real Madrid Foundation under the theme of ‘Football for Childhood’. This is an annual game – in its ninth year - for Real Madrid Legends to raise money for good causes.

Arsenal Invincible and Arsenal Foundation ambassador Robert Pires will captain our side, which features a host of legends including Emmanuel Petit, Ray Parlour, Gilberto, Lauren, David Seaman and Nicolas Anelka.

Managing the team is Arsenal legend, David O’Leary, our record appearance maker with an impressive total of 772. He will be assisted by Jose Antonio Reyes.

David O’Leary said: “Sunday’s game promises to be the best football can offer – some world class players from the past and club legends who created history for both Arsenal and Real Madrid. What’s more, it’s for a fantastic cause, in one of the best stadiums in the world, playing to a sell-out crowd. It’s a privilege to manage the team.”

Our opponents will include Brazil’s World Cup winners, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, alongside Raul and Luis Figo. For the first time Xabi Alonso, Alvaro Arbeloa and former Gunner Julio Baptista will represent the Real Madrid’s legends team.

Emirates Stadium will play host to the return fixture on Saturday, September 8 in aid of The Arsenal Foundation. Tickets can be purchased here

Sunday’s match in Madrid will be streamed live on Arsenal Player to fans in the UK. Full details can be found here
