Energetic left back Nuno is continuing his development with Lazio in Serie A this season, after making 12 appearances for Nottingham Forest last term.
That loan spell followed a season in which he put his attacking instincts to good use at Ligue 1 side Marseille, where he scored six goals in 31 league appearances, including in a 4-1 win over Reims on his debut.
He helped Marseille to a third-placed finish in the league, and the defender also featured six times in the Champions League. Before that, the Portugal under-21 international made 28 appearances during his debut season with us, having arrived from Benfica in July 2021.
He netted his first Gunners goal in a home win over Manchester United.
Fast, powerful and never afraid to shoot, Nuno joined Benfica’s academy in 2015 before making his debut at aged 19 in a 5-0 Portuguese Supercup win over Sporting in August 2019. He marked his Primeira Liga debut a week later with a goal and two assists in a 5-0 win over Pacos de Ferreira.
