U-19s: PSG v Arsenal - Preview

By Lloyd Webb

Vlad Dragomir’s first season in the Uefa Youth League is all about gaining valuable experience.

The attacking midfielder impressed during his debut season in north London following his arrival from Romanian side ACS Poli Timisoara, and was rewarded with his first professional contract in April 2016.

Dragomir has since made the leap from the under-18s to the under-23s, and has now set his sights on further developing in the Uefa Youth League - starting with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

“This year is very important for me, because it is my second year playing for the club,” he told Arsenal.com. “It is very important for me and my future to play in the under-23s and the under-19s, because I will play a lot of games and develop.

“This first game against Paris Saint-Germain is very important, and I hope I can make my Youth League debut. I hope I can play well, and I want to win this game because we need to make a good start. I think a lot of people will be following our game, and I think we can do well.

“The coach has told us they are strong and a good team. My team-mates have played against them before, and have also told me they are a strong team with a good academy in a good club. I think we are better than them though, and we can win this.”
