U-18s: Chelsea v Arsenal - Preview

Joe Willock and Josh Dasilva celebrate with Eddie Nketiah

THE STORY SO FAR

Our under-18s could seal the U-18 Premier League title with victory against Chelsea at Cobham Training Ground on Tuesday.

Kwame Ampadu’s side sit top of the table with four wins and a draw from their five matches in the run-in to the season.

We’re the only side currently unbeaten in the final stage, having qualified from the southern group by finishing second with 41 points from 22 games.

THE OPPOSITION

Chelsea will be tough opposition on Tuesday. The Blues were the only team to finish above us in the southern group, finishing top of the table with 52 points from 22 games, scoring 68 goals in the process.

Victory at Chelsea will ensure that we move four points clear at the summit of the final stage group, with just one game of the season remaining.

LAST TIME WE MET

We last faced the Blues at London Colney on December 3. On that occasion, the result was a 2-2 draw.

Ike Ugbo and Martell Taylor-Crossdale gave the visitors a two-goal lead before the hour mark, prompting a late fightback from Ampadu’s charges.

Eddie Nketiah - formerly of Chelsea - pulled one back in the 76th minute, before Joe Willock’s penalty levelled the scores with 10 minutes remaining.
