Arsenal Ladies moved into the top half of the Women's Super League after beating title chasers Birmingham City on Sunday.
Goals from Casey Stoney and Freda Ayisi were enough to secure a second straight win on the road for the Gunners despite a late penalty from Karen Carney.
Under the temporary stewardship of Kelly Smith, Arsenal began brightly and took the lead on 23 minutes when Stoney slotted in her sixth goal of the campaign.
Birmingham thought they had a penalty on 49 minutes when Jade Moore was brought down but referee Amy Fern consulted with her assistant and changed her decision to a corner.
As the hosts pressed for an equaliser, Ayisi extended the lead before Carney struck in stoppage time after Alex Scott handballed in the box.
