Arsenal Ladies Reserves won the London County Cup with a 1-0 victory over Millwall Lionesses in Wednesday’s Final.
Substitute Trisha Gould scored the only goal of the game 15 minutes from time to give a young side an impressive win over their senior counterparts.
In previous seasons, the first team have competed in this competition but FA rules now state that Women's Super League teams are not to participate in County Cups. This presented a youthful side, with an average age of 17, a wonderful platform to gain experience on a big stage.
After a nervy opening from both sides, Arsenal shaded the first half and nearly went ahead when Laura Coombs thundered the bar from range.
The Gunners continued to press and got their reward in the 75th minute when Gould struck.
Lois Roche released Lucy Gunton Jones and, when her effort was saved, Gould was on hand to calmly slot home and win the cup for Arsenal.
