Arsenal Ladies were victorious against a tough Millwall side in the League Cup on Sunday.
Millwall - who are top of the Women's Premier League - worked hard throughout the game and proved to be no walk over.
Arsenal started brightly and had plenty of possession in the opening 20 minutes. Jennifer Beattie started her first game and headed home a Rachel Yankey corner after 10 minutes.
With a bit of breathing space the Gunners began to relax and created more chances as a result.
The Lionesses kept battling in the second-half, believing they still had a chance. But their hope was dashed when Yankey again crossed from the right to find Jayne Ludlow at the back post to head home her second of the season.
A deserved win for the Gunners after a good performance and a clean sheet.
