Arsenal Ladies got their UEFA Women's Cup campaign off to a
victory start in Denmark on Tuesday afternoon.

Vic Akers' side eased past Polish champions Wroclaw thanks
to goals from Lianne Sanderson, Rachel McArthur and substitute
Jayne Ludlow.

The Ladies needed just 17 minutes to break the deadlock. Rachel
Yankey crossed from the left and Sanderson was rather fortunate
when the ball clipped her heel and looped over the Polish
goalkeeper.

Six minutes later Arsenal doubled their lead. Kelly Smith was
the creator, playing the ball through to McArthur who touched it
past the keeper.

The Ladies looked comfortable and added a third with 15 minutes
left. Again Smith was instrumental, beating four opponents before
crossing for Ludlow. The substitute made no mistake.

Wroclaw kept battling and scored a consolation five minutes from
time. Marta Ocrebska beat Emma Byrne but it was too little, too
late for the Poles.

Arsenal's next game in their second qualifying round group
is against Toliatti on Thursday. They complete their fixtures
against hosts Brøndby on Saturday.

Brondby beat Lada Toliatti 2-0 on the other group game.
