Three goals in six first-half minutes were enough to secure
three more points for Arsenal Under-18s on an eventful morning
at the Training Centre.
Steve Bould's side were handicapped before the game even
kicked off when goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was injured
during the warm-up. Tom Cruise, normally an outfield player, donned
the gloves instead of the Pole.
That would have given Crystal Palace plenty of encouragement but
instead they found themselves three down before the half-hour
mark.
Craig Eastmond broke the deadlock after 22 minutes, Rui Fonte
doubled Arsenal's lead three minutes later and, three minutes
after that, Henri Lansbury completed a purple patch for the young
Gunners.
James O'Shea replaced Cruise in goal and conceded twice in
the second half as Palace mounted a fightback, but Arsenal held on
to register another victory.
Next up for Bould's team is a home fixture against Norwich
City on Saturday, December 1.
