Hey Junior Gunners - How's it going?
I hope you've all had a good start to 2013 - It's been another really busy time for me!
I performed all my usual pre-match duties when we played Liverpool at the Emirates on January 30. The team showed real spirit and determination to come back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2. Olivier and Theo scored our goals, and we came close to winning the match late on.
There was some real excitement around the Club when Mr Wenger signed Nacho Monreal from Malaga. Nacho is a left-footed defender and I'm looking forward to meeting him.
Our new signing made his debut two days later in the home match against Stoke. We had to battle but managed to take the three points thanks to Lukas' late free kick. At the final whistle I popped up to box level to meet some really happy Arsenal fans.
On Saturday, February 9, the team made the long journey up north to take on Sunderland. The game was being screened live at the Emirates, so I popped down to the stadium to watch the match and meet some of the 1,000 fans present. Arsenal legend Robert Pires was there and took 40 lucky fans on a special tour! The game itself was good too. We played really well in the first half, and took the lead through Santi. Then in the second half, we defended really well and ended up taking a valuable three points back to London!
Unfortunately we lost our next game, at home to Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup. It was really nice to meet Nacho for the first time though. He's started his Arsenal career really well.
Next up was the first leg of our Champions League last-16 tie against Bayern Munich at the Emirates. Everyone was really excited for the game, but we lost 3-1, with Lukas scoring our goal. We've still got the return game in Munich to go though, so let's cheer on the team and hopefully we can still go through.
Anyway, that's all for now.
Big hugs
Gunner
