A double from Alexis and strikes from Theo Walcott and Granit Xhaka - his first for the club - secured victory for Arsenal at KCOM Stadium on Saturday.
Alexis set the Gunners on their way when he got the final touch to an Alex Iwobi effort in the 17th minute, before Walcott doubled the advantage with a lovely floated effort.
The third goal also came courtesy of the Chilean forward, before Xhaka introduced himself to the travelling Arsenal support with a rasping drive from distance.
