It's time to reveal the Gunners' Greatest 50 Goals - as voted for by Arsenal's fans.
This was a wonderful strike to cap a momentous occasion.
Arsenal already had the title in the bag - they led Everton by three goals with one minute left - so it was party time at Highbury. And Adams joined in the fun in the best possible way.
David Platt had just tried to put Ian Wright through on goal but Thomas Myhre, the Everton goalkeeper, raced out of his box to clear his lines with two headers. Don Hutchison collected the ball on the right flank but was instantly dispossessed as Platt put his foot in.
Adams, meanwhile, had tracked an Everton striker who had dropped deep looking for a pass from Hutchison. When the Scot was tackled, Adams saw his opportunity to join the attack. He stormed forward and left the loose ball to Steve Bould, stationed in an unfamiliar midfield position after replacing Chris Wreh.
Bould timed his pass perfectly, chipping the ball over the Everton back line into the path of Adams. The skipper was through on goal but was hardly accustomed to one-on-one situations like this. He didn't hesitate, controlling the bouncing ball with his body and then lashing a half-volley into the net.
It was a fitting way to confirm Arsène Wenger's first Premier League title and it remains one of the most iconic moments in Arsenal's history.
