Goalkeeper John Moody swapped Hathersage for Arsenal in August 1925 but had to wait until May 1927 to make his senior debut, away at Bury in the league.
The 5ft 8in goalkeeper went on to make five more appearances for the Club before joining Bradford City in May 1928.
Moody went on to have spells at Doncaster Rovers and Manchester United before finishing his career at Chesterfield.
