Jackie Mordue

Durham-born Jackie Mordue signed for Arsenal from Barnsley for a fee of £450 on April 8, 1907, making his debut against Birmingham City five days later.

Over the next year, Mordue represented the first team 28 times, scoring once.

He moved back to the North-East in May 1908, joining Sunderland where he won club and international honours.

The wing-forward also went on to represent Middlesbrough and Hartlepool United and then became player-manager at Durham City.
