Ernest Hanks scored on his debut against Bradford City - but was never on the winning side in a Woolwich Arsenal shirt.
In fact, the team lost in each of Hanks' four appearances for the Club.
The centre forward joined as an amateur from the Army Service Corps in April 1912 and signed professional forms in November that year.
Hanks played more regularly in the South Eastern League but enjoyed his only Woolwich Arsenal goal against the Bantams in October.
He played three more matches the following month but did not appear again thereafter and joined Southend United in May 1913.
