We returned to winning ways on Wednesday night as we ran out 5-0 winners over Charlton Athletic in the Continental Tyres Cup.
The visitors had a clear gameplan of sitting tight and remaining organised at the back - but their clean sheet vanished inside six minutes following a wonderful solo goal from Vivianne Miedema.
The Netherlands international received the ball 40 yards from goal and dribbled past the Charlton defence, before firing past Katie Startup with a cool finish.
The pressure continued - and on the half-hour mark Miedema drilled the ball across the face of goal and into the path of Katie McCabe, who made no mistake in doubling our advantage.
Shortly after, Startup made a fine save to deny Miedema from close range, before Amelia Hazard came close to a debut goal on the stroke of half-time.
Following the break, Beth Mead fired wide from the edge of the box and struck the side netting in the space of five minutes - but she went on to create our third goal of the afternoon just moments later.
The 23-year-old curled a dangerous delivery into the box and the ball eventually crossed the line following a goalmouth scramble.
Miedema then leapt high to convert her second of the evening with a header from close range, before McCabe scored her sixth goal of the season so far.
Operating as a left back, McCabe charged forward from defence and found herself on the edge the box, where she eventually pulled the trigger and fizzed the ball into the bottom corner.
We controlled the game from start to finish, but with less than a minute left to play, Sari van Veenendaal made a stunning double save to deny the visitors and keep our clean sheet intact.
