WHAT HAPPENED
Daniel Ballard’s opener ultimately counted for nothing as Tottenham came from behind to beat us 3-1 at Meadow Park on Saturday.
The centre back headed us in front from a free-kick after just 18 minutes, but our lead was cancelled out before the interval.
Tottenham right-back Timothy Eyoma nodded in the equaliser for the visitors, as they capitalised on a set-piece of their own.
By the 36th minute, Tottenham had taken the lead. Oliver Skipp gave the visitors the advantage in impressive fashion, with a cool side-footed volley into the top corner.
We looked to battle back, but were stung soon after half-time when Keanan Bennetts scored from a free-kick, as our afternoon ended in defeat.
WHAT IT MEANS
We remain four points behind Premier League 2 leaders Leicester City, but have two games in hand. Liverpool, who occupy second, are just one point ahead - and we also hold two games in hand on them.
WHAT’S NEXT
Steve Gatting’s side have a chance to bounce back next Saturday, when they host Chelsea at London Colney.
Kick-off is at 12pm (UK time) but attendance is by invitation only.
