WHAT HAPPENED
Our under-18s slipped to a late defeat on Saturday afternoon as Southampton ran out 1-0 winners at London Colney.
Ken Gillard made four changes from last week’s 1-1 draw against West Ham, with Luke Plange handed his first start of the season after scoring twice off the bench against Chelsea and the Hammers.
Miguel Azeez was at the heart of the action throughout the first half, slipping Alfie Matthews through on goal, before finding him once more from a corner with an inviting delivery - but he was unable to provide the finishing touch.
Shortly after the break, Nathan Butler-Oyedji troubled the Saints defence by charging into the area, beating two players and firing at goal, but Olly Wright was equal to his low effort.
However, despite dominating possession and having the game’s greater chances, we were made to pay for failing to clear our lines late on, as Callum Watts pounced on a cutback to fire home and secure all three points for the visitors.
WHAT IT MEANS
We're currently sixth in the table with four points from four games
